When Fear Becomes Motivation, Success Soon Follows

WELCOME:

Welcome to my motivational moment entitled “When fear becomes your motivation, your success will soon follow.”

INTRODUCTION:

Has fear ever left you paralyzed in a state of inaction? Let me answer for myself. Yes, it has.

FEAR DEFINED:

World-renowned author, speaker, and entrepreneur, Seth Godin, was quoted saying this about fear, “Anxiety is nothing but repeatedly re-experiencing failure in advance. What a waste,” in the CopyBlogger’s 6/17/2020 post, Is FEAR or F.E.A.R Holding You Back? – Copyblogger, This is so true, at least for me, it is. Like any other roadblock to our success, many of us have allowed this very real emotion to hold us back in innumerable ways…personally and professionally.  But, get this, sometimes it’s someone or something else’s failure, not our own, that we’re dreading.

A MINDSET SHIFT:

I remember when I was afraid to fly. No matter what anyone told me about the safety of flying, I was not convinced. In my mind, there was something just not right about the big metal bird in the sky and I constantly imagined my flight being the one doomed for mechanical failure. So, I either missed out on awesome experiences or endured long, exhausting car rides to get to my destination. After enough of those experiences, another fear arose in me. It was the fear of having regrets of not being there with family and friends to enjoy once-in-a-lifetime events, or being too tired after a long car ride, to fully enjoy myself. Those thoughts made me decide to at least give flying a try…and I loved it. Now, I’m not saying that I am a totally confident flyer yet. I still have mini panic attacks at the least amount of turbulence; however, the fear of missing out, and the allure of getting to enjoy my destination faster and more-fully have converted me.

CALL TO ACTION:

So, tell me. What’s your fear? I’d love to hear all about it.  Then, join my mission to use fear as our motivator…not our debilitater.

CONCLUSION:

Thank you for joining me for this motivational moment with yours truly, Cynthia O. Be blessed.
