Motivation – “Don’t Just Fly…Soar”

INTRODUCTION:

Hello and welcome to today’s motivational moment entitled, “Don’t Just Fly…Soar!,” with Cynthia O.

MOTIVATION:

Have you ever seen an eagle fly? Even if not in-person, maybe on TV. It is majestic and inspirational all at once.  As large as the eagle is, I find it amazing how effortlessly it glides through the air.  Unlike many other birds, I have never seen eagles flying in groups. Other birds may take off with the eagle, but each occasional flap of its massive wings takes the powerful and graceful eagle higher. As it rises above everything that is going on down below, it soars to its destination.

Our church, Turner Chapel AME, often ends virtual broadcasts with a clip of an eagle soaring high in the air, seemingly without a care in the world. The image reminds me of Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”

As we press towards living our God-given destiny, we should learn to rise above the noise. Rise above our circumstance. Rise above letting our life experiences stop us from pursuing our dreams. Rise above the noise of our own nay-saying mental voices that cause us to tell ourselves that we can’t, we don’t, and we won’t. Rise above the noise of those around us who tell us that we can’t achieve our dreams.

Take one step at a time towards your dream and allow God to elevate you to the next level of your destiny.  As you continue to follow His lead, you’ll eventually soar above your circumstance.  Keep walking until you’re strong enough to soar.

So, after each stumble, catch your balance, trust God’s leading, spread your wings and flutter until you learn to fly. Then fly until you rise high enough above the noise to soar. You have what it takes. I see you in the future and you’re looking good.
