Welcome to my motivational moment entitled, “Rise and Shine,” with Cynthia O.
MOTIVATION:
I imagine that most of us have heard the quote, “Rise and Shine.” For one, it reminds me of a song, “Rise, Shine, Give God the Glory,” that we sang during church service when I was young. To me, the quote and the church song compel us to show our gratefulness for the time given to us by making it count.
Unfortunately, we sometimes make the mistake of thinking that only grandiose actions count as shining moments. That is not the case.
We shine when we share the good news of Jesus Christ with others. We shine when we share joy with those around us. We shine when we come to the aid of a person in need. We shine when we acknowledge and celebrate others. We shine when we engage in self-care that energizes us to be our best selves. We shine when we stand up for the powerless.
We shine when we choose to do the right thing when no one is looking. We shine when we seek to resolve conflict. We shine when we pay it forward after someone does good for us. And we shine when we show love instead of hate. We shine when we serve others as I shared in last week’s motivation. Check it out at https://nnamtique.com/motivation-serve-someone-today. We also give God the glory when we show love to each other, because God is love.
We all have a bright light inside of us. So, on each new day that God blesses us with, let’s rise, give thanks, and shine as bright as the brightest star in the sky.
